Nebraska is still putting our power lines back up from the 12/31/06 Ice Storm. Utilizing a "Sky Crane" speeds up the process. Since I work for the power company, I was allowed closer access to the action. 1st picture was with Sigma 70-300, 125, F22, and the second with Sigma 10-20 160, F14

I remember seeing a piece on Discovery about this S-64 and they said it had huge turbines. Was it very loud at that distance ?
Great shots

The guy told me that their are two Pratt & Whitney 4500HP each jet engines on this machine. The payload on this one was 20,000 lbs. This company has bigger ones. These have three pilots, two up front and one facing the other way. The one behind actually takes over the controls when they are over the job site. A couple more pictures of this helicopter in action. I forgot to mention that any CC would be appreciated.

I fly in equipment for our power company using a 500D. Our Huey guy fly in the poles. I also used to fly Chinooks, so... I LOVE THESE PHOTOS! :). Very clean, clear shots. Nice composition on the last.
