Is anyone using this function? I didn't know that the Rebel had this function ie- Remote Capture. I didn't install the Canon install disk originally because I was using a CompactFlash transer device.

You can take a picture and it'll save the file directly to your computer. This is like the poor man's way to direct link to your computer. The pros have an expensive Digital back with a Firewire link to computer. But we have Canon's remote capture. It's a little slower than the pros firewire link but it's still cool that we can do this at all with the Rebel! :D

Does it give you more info or maybe to give you a larger review of your shot? I havent experimented with it yet.

I used it once to get photos of a hummingbird at a feeder on a balcony. The balcony is so small that if I stood outside the birds wouldn't land. I didn't want to shoot through the sliding glass door. Solution was to put the camera on a tripod close to the feeder, run the USB cable into my door and shoot with the space bar. Here is the result of a lot of work.

Studio work.

You take the shot, and see it right away on the computer screen and make the required adjustments.

Pretty handy methinks

If in doubt, I shut up...

I would think its good for the pests in the malls that take your picture as you walk by and try to sell it to you on a mug for 15 bucks. :D

So this'd just be chimping with a big screen, then? :P :P

LOL, yeah, that's it.

But what about the USB 1.1 issue?

While the few shots you've shot are uploading (via USB 1.1, let me remind you) you're counting cracks on the ceiling and the model is getting drunk with champagne, and by the time the 7th shot is uploaded you are able to see at least one crack on every shot, and the model is loudly abusing the toilet. Or does this work much differently from what I imagine?
