Does the 350D freeze !!

When doing the wee close up bits on my boys model train set the cammera took ages to focus I pressed the shutter but it kept flashing and focusing in and out but wouldn't take picture I turned it off and back on problem solved could this be the start of a problem.

Every lens has minimal focus distance, most likely, you were too close .


What we see depends mainly on what we look for.

Yep, I agree you were probably nearer than the minimum focus distance of the lens.

If you were trying to autofocus on a flat area with no detail or contrast difference it could have been the problem, or as others have said too darn close ;-)a

Cheers guys It happened once before when taking picture of an otters halt and tracks under licence of course so lots of similar foliage around and again working almost vertical taking pictures of ground level.
