Not sure about the PP colors. Looks off for this lens and the 20D. WILLIAM LEE

I don`t know how to get rid of it unless using neat image or something Darrell...Canon XT (for sell )..40d.5D..

Any help with as to why ? I know this combo should do better. Darrell...Canon XT (for sell )..40d.5D..

The 400 should be as sharp if not sharper than my lens. No post processing at all, just cropped. Did you do PP to your shots? Can you rent a 2nd body? But if you only have 7 days left on your warranty, I'd be more inclined just to send it back. Those shots just don't look right at all. WILLIAM LEE

I don't know if you are doing any sharpening. I have noticed when I do I get better results if I isolate the subject and sharpen that. When I sharpen the background more noise shows up. It also shows up more in lower light situations. If you're afraid of failure ... you'll never succeed!

No post processing, just crops. Even though its with a different body and lower ISO, the sharpness and bokeh should serve as a benchmark. WILLIAM LEE

My 500mm needed some servicing for a backfocus issue, but I didn't send it in right away because I got a squirrel shot in super clear focus. It was misleading. Need your shutter speeds to be above 1/1250 I would say to eliminate camera shake as the culprit with the 400mm 5.6. But judging from your photos, there's a really unnatural quality to them.
