I have an s230 and i would love to take some night shots. i am in the process of building a tripod but i cant seem to figure out how to slow down to shutter speed to 15 secs? can someone please help me. thanks!

I am guessing that you have Tv mode. Just set it to tht and you should be able to slow down the shutter. You could also do it in full M.

How do you build a tripod???

For shutter speeds longer than one second, you have to put the camera in "long shutter mode". You can find that in the REC menu. Refer to page 65 of you manual. If you don't have one, you can get an English one here:
