Get Adobe Lightroom, Elements or Photoshop. Once you have either of them, easy for us to help you.

Use an external flash instead of the pop-up.

In photoshop you can use the Lasso to select the iris, then go to saturation and drop the red channel. Voila.
Definitely consider a external flash like someone already mentioned, it will save PP work in the future.

Although Photoshop is a very expensive program... Theres great ways to reduce red-eye with it. If your serious about photography, I think its a must have program. There's other programs out there as well, but my favorite is Photoshop. Here's a link to a video tutorial for red-eye reduction using PS.

You can use a photoshop redeye removal tool without buying photoshop!

Try downloading Photoshop Album Starter Edition 3.0: http://www.adobe.com …otoshopalbum/starter.html (external link)

It's free, and has red-eye removal similar to Photoshop Elements, along with a few other basic-type image fixes.

Other free programs with red-eye removal: (that I can think of off the top of my head)
Picasa
Corel album starter edition
