Australian F1 Grand Prix 2007

Looked at your pics, looks like corner 3. Did you shoot from right at the end of the run off? As they had the cherry pickers next to the corporate stand this year.

Thanks Tom. The shot was taken about half way between turns 3 and 4 between the 2 corporate stands. I was very lucky to get in there. One of the officials turned out to be a legend and let us in so we could get some better shots.

Well done James, I was wondering how you got so close there.

I also had to sweet talk a security person to allow me to use the Sigma 50-500mm lens as well. That was a close call. I almost got thrown out of the circuit. I think I used up all my good luck for the next 3 months in that one day.

You are one luck sob. That's a dream come true. Great shots too.

I had a friend request a Ferrari photo yesterday so spent some time post processing this one as well. The main thing was to de-saturate the wall behind a bit to make the Ferrari stand out more and then I selectively increased contrast and Shaddow/HIghlight to try and make the car a little less soft than it originally was because of having to shoot through the fence.

I think it was the corner but I was only there on Saturday. Sunday was spent on the couch watching the race.

Kimi or Massa in the Ferrari?

Based on the helmet it would be Massa in the Ferrari.
