I've been futzing with mine and find that if it's too tight I get a sore hand and have trouble reaching the vertical knob with my index finger, and if it's too loose it loses its effect.

I keep it as snug as possible without making it difficult to get my hand in and out. That makes it possible to move my thumb around to the various buttons on the beck of the camera while effectively releasing my grip, but without fear of dropping the camera or my hand slipping out of the strap. I'm not short. I'm concentrated awesome!

With the smaller lenses (17-40, 50mm) I do not perceive any weakness in the Big Ed to tripod attachment. ...so depending on your lenses.. the "flex" in the Big Ed may be a none issue.

Riddle me that one! I am a sasquatch! Well that puts CDS over 6' then. I am used to being the short person around. One of my colleagues is about 6' 5" so it is rather amusing with us. that aint short. I'll tell you what's short, 5'3", that's what's short Regards, arum.
