When I turn my canon A70 camera on it will not open up and an error message appears E18. Is there any way of fixing this?

I've seen reports that people have tapped against the side of the lens barrel and gotten it back working again. If that doesn't do the job, I'd suggest a new camera rather than a repair that'll be close to the cost of a newer, more capable model. Jon
