With relay races on Sunday, Junior Nordic skiing World Championships in Tarvisio, Italy ended. And so did another season of my shooting cross country skiing World cups and World championships. One more week of ski jumping on FIS World cup finals in Planica, Slovenia, and my winter season will finally be over.
Here's few more photos from last few races on Junior Nordic skiing WCH.

That would be pretty much all about xc skiing from me for this season :)

Awesome! Looks like you were very close to the guy in the first shot and the choice of wide-angle was just perfect!

I don't envy the wax techs for those races especially the classic ones, unless of course everyone had some rcr's to use. Boy I miss cross country skiing so freaking much your awesome pics just make it worse.

Tell me about it... I was xc skiing myself for almost 20 years. On top of that, I was serviceman for our National XC World cup team for few years. And even though I quit something like 8 years ago, and I somehow came over that "God I wish I could still be there", this week was really bad. All I was thinking was, how nice it was when I was still part of all this. :(
On mornings track was frozen and really fast, so it was really perfect for skiing... And I couldn't do anything. After races snow was shi**y, so after that I just didn't feel like anymore. But if nothing else it was nice to see some people from other teams with who I spent more then half of my life :)
Btw... waxing in such conditions is easy. So for skating as for classic. Skiing on the other side was fun on morning, but really really bad later on when guys had their races. That was really bad in that wet slow snow. And on top of that conditions weren't equal for everyone. First 10-20 skiers had much better conditions then rest of pack. But first 10-20 were best one anyway, so medals still went to right people.

Nope, no flash. But snow works as giant reflector, and sun as giant flash  And when you position yourself right way, it really looks like you have fill flash :)

Yea frozen stuff is so so fast and holds up pretty good in race conditions but boy does it knock off kick wax fast. Hopefully I'll start coaching high school sometime, or following racers around and taking pictures!
