Owl species #8 A New One For me.

I have been most fortunate to photograph 7 species of Owl over the past year. On Sunday March 11 I saw and photographed my 8th species and first Short eared Owl. I followed and lost him after watching from binocular distance away. On my way home I came accross what is probably the same Owl ( within 1 mile of the first encounter). The images aren't the greatest but I will take them for now. I would very much like to repeat the experience under better conditions as the light was just a bit too low ...keeping my fingers crossed

The First is Great... I dont know what you are talking about not being good shots!

BTW... If you are ever down this way(hamilton area) I can show you a spot during the winter that almost guarantees shots of these guys...

I'd be thrilled with shots like that, especially the first. I've never found myself very close to them though I've seen them several times.
