Please help! EF12 II Tube stuck on the lens!!

Have been using this EF12 II for a while now and never had a problem with it until tonight.

The damn tube is stuck to lens! I've had it work sucessfully many times on my 60mm and for some godforsaken reason refuses to come off!

It needs to turn about 1mm more to release, but it wont! I've tried brut force, but am afraid that I'll break something.


Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

So I tugged and I tugged. Mounted the tube in a vise and finally worked the lens off. Inspecting the lens, I see that one of the screws was coming off and is now bent. Looks like this little screw had somehow come loose and was preventing the tube from turning at 1 extra millimeter.

argh. I'll bring it to b&h tomorrow and see if it's repairable.
