Still looks soft in the focus though, like it's grabbed focus several metres on the road in front of the car. Either the lens can't keep up with the action, or the 20D is front focusing I suspect. I've seen some of your other shots, and I know you can get a lot sharper than this image

Others will disagree with me here, but a 1 series camera's AF is just so much better imho, especially for something like motor sports photography.

Was it shot in AI Servo?. Do you use a monopod? If not, consider getting one ![]() There are all sorts of variables to consider before diving into the Photography money pit. felt the need for a USM when i was in the pits for the F1 testing in Bahrain .... before my sigma focussed, the car was gone and nowadays it is only 60 mph in the pits? Learning ... all the time!
