Hello all,

With the arrival of my sparkly new 300mm f/2.8 I decided to go for a walk around Whipsnade Wild Animal Park last Sunday. It was cold and windy, but there was enough sun to make it worthwhile photographically, and I always enjoy watching the animals regardless of photo opportunities.

Thanks for taking a look. C&C welcome!

Looks like minimal Post Processing....if any on the first two. Makes me like that lens even more! Congratulations on picking a good copy up!

Only PP done is a little USM once they'd been resized. Have already noticed how little sharpening is required with this lens, I love it! I'm very tempted to flog off my 100-400 as I can't imagine a need for it. It's all money in the 1D mk3 fund :-D

Cheers,
Ben

Mine did on Saturday, now it's sitting in the corner sulking and refusing to come out and play!

Thanks! That was taken through thick bars, I guess shooting at f/2.8 got rid of them quite successfully!

Cheers,
Ben

Excellent shots, Ben. I especially like No 5 - shots like that don't come along very often. I live about nine miles from Whipsnade and your pictures have prompted me to go there again (perhaps when the weather gets a bit warmer!)

Thanks guys.

I'm saving for a mk3 now!

I always enjoy a trip around Whipsnade, well worth a visit! It's well worth joining too if you're going to go more than a couple of times in the year (which I tend to!).

Cheers,
Ben
