My experience with clip locks isn't too satisfying. Again, they are off the radar so they might be pretty good for again little money. Based on this sample of one, I would tend to believe their load rating a lot more than Benro's. My Stuff

Mar 26, 2007 07:01 | #18 I just bought their FT-6827T on Ebay. This is a 3 segment with 12kg load capability, which seems to be the limit for the Chinese CF tripods at this time offered outside of China. We'll give their flip locks a try. My Stuff

Stew can't wait to hear about it. it doesn't seem as nicely constructed or have as many features as the benro equiv... but it does seem much cheaper! let me know how it goes! Too much gear...

It looks to be the same basic design as the FT-565H reviewed here except that the friction control is on a separate knob and it's about half the price at only $70. I don't trust the mini-thumbwheel in the FT-565H. It looks delicate and a prime candidate to either break or get full of crud in a way that will render it useless. Andy Brown; South-east England. I had already pretty much understood the two knob design and didn't want to try that in another brand. (I want to see how these things work) Neither have I spent time understanding the embedded tension knob yet. Hopefully a better assessment of that thumbwheel will be forthcoming. My Stuff
