Ok I am gonna be getting my wireless transmitter and recviver from AB on thursday. I was wondering if anyone has been able to use the Sekonic L358 w/wireless to work with the AB unit. So if anyone knows if this is possible please post up!

There's only two ways to use wireless metering with alienbees that I know of, with the L358.

You can either get the wireless Pocket Wizard module for the meter and a PW transceiver for one of the lights, or you just set the meter into wireless meter mode, where you press the measure button and the icon blinks, waiting for a flash. This is where you take the wireless trigger that goes on your camera and press the test button. This will give a reading.

Mike-
I do it all the time. Just plug the Radio Flash Receiver (RFT1RX) into your AB. When ready to take a meter reading position the Sekonic and while pressing and holding the measurment button also press the Radio Flash Transmitter (RFT1TX) button.
The AB will fire and you'll get your reading.

I connect the AB wireless hotshoe thingy to the L358 and fire it like it was wired. I then disconnect and put the AB hotshoe thingy back on my camera. Is that what you wanted? Works fine for me after a little practice.

 Hey guys,
I was looking at the same thing here and bought the wireless unit for both the AB's and the Sekonic.
The AB wireless trigger is really easy to program / link to the camera module but now I cannot get the Sekonic to trigger the AB's.
I can understand taking the unit of the hotshoe but doesn't that defeat the object?
Do I have to buy the radio units for the AB's instead?

Cheers.
Jon
