I would like to add another flash to my current line-up. I want something stronger than the 550EX I now have. I can forget Quantum, way over my budget. Does anyone have experence with the Sunpak 622 Super Pro? If I understand correctly I could slave it along with my 420EX to a 550EX master, correct?

The Sunpak 622 is a powerful "potato masher" style flash. It is a nice unit with high power being the main attribute.

It does not work with Canon's ETTL system as the 550EX and 420EX does.

The only way you could efficiently integrate it with those particular flash units would be in manual mode, and the 420EX does not even have a manual mode.

The proprietary master/ slave ETTL mode of the 550EX and the 420EX means nothing to the Sunpak 622.

Enjoy! Lon

I wonder if I use the camera in manual, would the 550EX trigger the 420EX and fire another flash manually via a PC cord? I have no problem using a flash meter, I would need it anyway to adjust ratios. I want to introduce a third, inexpensive, powerful flash to the mix.
