Hi all, as the thread name suggests, I am brand new to this forum.

I've been playing around with flash and 1/1250 shutter speed, taking photos of various things, but one thing that really captured my imagination is water, it looks like floating crystal with a fast shutter speed, and my new A530 (Not the top of the range camera, but it dos the trick) really surprised me with the sharpness of the photos.

Not the prettiest picture, but isn't it strange?

What settings did you use? I have a A550 and I would like to try a shot like this. I'm surprised your camera took this shot so well and clear, perhaps I could do the same. I'm new to cameras so I dont know how to set the camera up right in manual mode.

Okay;
Aperture was 5.6,
Shutter speed was 1/1250,
Flash was set to 1/3 power,
ISO was 80

I was so surprised the flash had so much power at that setting, and I took about 200 shots using 2 AA batteries =O

You should try zooming into the droplets to see what image is reflected there!
