MKII,
I believe its normal, its the flash making sure its fully charged. Like a battery charger, it gives a pulse every couple of seconds to keep the full charge.

As John_B said.. as far as I understand it it's just the capacitators (or whatever) topping themselves up every few seconds. Perfectly normal.

I agree about the capacitors. I think that noise also creates some kind of interference. The EBay radio flash triggers seem to spontaneously fire with the speedlites. Some people say it has to do with that noise. Not a big deal though. Definitely nothing to worry about.

I think it's normal. My 550 does it. I even think disposable cameras with flashes do it.

LOL  How many responses do you need before you feel comfortable with the replies the previous posters have given. :)

Don't worry about it. It's normal, as everybody else have said. ;)

And regardiong "another opinion"

Somehow a very old, possibly vaudeville joke, rattles about in my head that goes someting like this.

Man with a huge cut on his arm goes to a doctor.

Doctor says "your arm is cut, I need to sew it up."

Man says "I want second opinion"

Doctor says "you're ugly".

Enjoy! Lon
