It has been interesting to see everyone elses take on the event. I found it to be frustrating, particularly from the public areas. I am not sure things get that much better though on the other side of the fence. Anyway, here is my take on the event - for what it is worth. Most shot once the sun started heading down with a 1d and a Sigma 120-300. Cheers.

Just to let you know how pretty the track is in many parts...

and the corvette in another location. The white vette was a trip to see, though GT1 looks to be a little bit of a sleeper class this year.

By far my favorite. Love how you can see the brakes heating up.

Now, that's the kind of photo I aspire to take. Very cool.

Your shot of the Vette is fabulous. I cant wait for the Long Beach event in 2 weeks. Time to maybe pickup a lens or two.

That is SO nice! The brakes are getting hot and the flames coming out the side. Very nice timing. :D

Thanks all for the comments. The flaming Corvette shot took a couple of laps of watching the car to figure out where he was most likely to show flames. Then it was a couple more laps of shooting him to get the right one. I was glad to get one that seemed to work. But the one good thing about the Vettes is you can count on them for brake glow and some flame. Dang Audi's give you neither.

Thanks again for the looks and comments.

I love the flames shooting out of the Vette, that is great. Not to mention the rotors heating up.
