I am wondering if anyone can tell me why I can't see thumbnail images of PSD files when I browse folders within windows. All I see is the PSD icon. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Travis

Only Adobe products know what a PSD file is. If you want to see the image use TIFF instead of PSD or use Bridge.

I can't see them on my system. Maybe you have something installed that I am not aware of.

Try Preferences >File handling >Maximize PSD File compatibility. Select "Always" or "Ask". Worked for me.
<<edit>> Sorry, misread the question. This works with other viewers, but not Windows explorer.

I was having the same issue this evening, being pretty frustrated at not being able to see thumbs of *.PSD in Windows Explorer. Well, good old google searches helped to find some solutions. I used this one, but note there is a Registry Change in this, so back up your registry first:

It worked without a glitch and now I get thumbnail previews in Windows Explorer...
