Here is a wood duck from suburban Cleveland, OH. Gloomy day (goes without saying :) ). Playing with a new Tokina 80-400mm lens. This is about a 60% crop.

The picture lost all sense of color when posted. The file colors are actually quite vivid. I don't know what happened. Looks o.k. loaded directly from the computer, but it looses saturation on the forum?!?!

Pretty nonetheless, get your lens down and your shutter speed up, use the long part of that lens, are you on a tripod? If not get one and a nice ball type mount, then you can pan into/with the subject. Continue to develop your eye, you look to be off to a great start.
