Mac's aren't necessarily more expensive, The Mac Pro is cheaper than the Dell equivalent. most don't use Apple's Memory that they fit as it's so expensive, most buy it later and fit it in themselves, this is a much cheaper alternative and you end up with the same memory anyway.

People are under the misconception that Macs are much more expensive than PC's, they are about the same if you configure them with the same specs.

Go to apple.com and configure one, then go to Dell and configure one with similiar specs and you will see the price is about the same. Apple only charges a premium for memory, I wouldnt buy apple memory since you can get the same thing for half the price somewhere else.

PCs ARE cheaper. Dell is rediculously expensive on the higher end. Forget Dell - poor comparison.
Go to Newegg and price there. There's lots of online vendors that sell custom designed rigs - you pick the exact components. and they build it. PCs can be custom built much cheaper than a MAC. Design it yourself and you get quality parts the way you want it. For photoshop you don't need an expensive 3D video card. So why buy a build that has one? Custom build the rig, save on a video card and use the saved cash to buy more RAM.

But MACs are much more less stress since you have less to worry about concerning viruses & spyware. But if you surf with a PC under an account OTHER than Administrator the risk is greatly reduced. PCs can have driver issues though. MACs are great machines - but you can get more for your money with a PC. But price is still only one aspect to consider. MACs are great everything in one machines. For many people MACs make good sound sense. For me they didn't. The next machine I get will be a MAC - a cheap one dedicated for internet use.

Some people are willing to pay for a better user experience, end of story. Hardware isn't everything. Productivity is key.

This thread has gotten off topic, there were two specific machines in the first post. Please stop with the general mac vs PC thing and get back to helping out the original poster.

If you want to do just get right to work and not have to worry about screwing around with the computer I'd go with a Mac. I own both and I reboot my macs 100 times less than my PCs.

Cheers
