That was the first and last time that I saw this bird. Maybe you'll have better luck than me, and get some really big pictures with your new lens.

Thanks Brandon, I'd just have said adult male in non-breeding plumage (Aug-March). What's the distinction between first-year male and adult non-breeding male plumage? My Sibley doesn't go there, and I'd like to know.

The brownish or lighter colored primaries where as an adult would have full black wings...
