I went down to Key West yesterday to visit one of my customers and, this time, I actually made the time to stop "here and there" to take some random pics. I'm new to the world of DSLR's, but I keep reading that practice is what makes you better, so I'm practicing during every opportunity I get!

Here are some pics of an Osprey I caught in flight as I was standing on the dock behind a hotel in Islamorada. I didn't even realize there was a nest until it actually landed. It was really, really windy, so I was surprised at how clear the shots came out (at least from my perspective). I know it can't be the shooter's experience , so I assume the IS in the lens was working overtime!

Enjoy the pics!

Wow, that looks like a Union meeting. Nice series of shots. :)

LOL! I have seen lots of single Ospreys in nests, but I've never seen anything like this before. Like I mentioned in my post, I didn't even realize there was a nest until the one in flight landed. What I didn't understand is that the one in flight wasn't carrying a meal, but when it landed, it was tearing up some sort of sushi item and feeding it to the younger ones. I guess it must've been there from before and the little ones had a hard time digging in? Either way, I would've loved to get to the other side of the nest in order to get a pic of them all from the front, but there was just no way of doing so.

Oh, and thank you for the compliment!

I love the nest shot. Please send them back up north when you're done taking pictures. I'd appreciate it.

That's the same thought that crossed my mind when I first saw it!
