I went down to Key West yesterday to visit one of my customers and, this time, I actually made the time to stop "here and there" to take some random pics. I'm new to the world of DSLR's, but I keep reading that practice is what makes you better, so I'm practicing during every opportunity I get! Here are some random wildlife pics I took along the way.

Enjoy the pics!

Here's a pelican on a bridge waiting for a meal from a nearby fisherman...

Here's mama or papa Osprey descending towards a nest landing...

Awesome photos.... I especially like the alligator, you don't see them yawn very often, unless they are "yawning" towards food, haha.

Thanks! Living in Miami all of my life has allowed me to see my share of alligators, but I've NEVER seen one do that! It was a complete surprise because the gator wasn't moving at all, according to the people that were watching him as I arrived. I asked them if the gator had done anything interesting and the man of the group mentioned that "he just looked like a fake statue" the whole time they were there. I was going to take a pic anyways and as I positioned myself, the group of people left and the gator immediately opened his mouth in a slow, steady motion. I captured three shots in succession of the event and the one I posted was the one of the gator with its mouth in the most open position. Comically, as I walked away, the next group of tourists arrived and asked me if the gator had done something interesting. I told them that it had just yawned, but I don't really think they believed me. I guess I just got lucky this time...

Thank you! In my opinion, the Florida Keys is loaded with photo opportunities. Now that I've been bitten by the DSLR bug (and have POTN website fever), I'll be sure to take my gear with me when visiting my customers in Key West.

Thank you for the kind words! By the way, you have an awesome gallery, especially the shots of the eagle on the lake!
