When I looked out the window yesterday, I jumped off the computer and ran upstairs with my camera and tripod and took a few snaps of the most surreal sky I have ever seen! - What I was going for was a shot of the birds in flight, while still having the buildings and sky, I hope it's not too busy.

Also, this shot completely ignores the rule of thirds, and centers on the birds and sky, yet it still seems apealing to me. Should I worry less about rule of thirds? - Did this technique work?

The grain is from compression I had to use to get it under 100kb.

Strange and beautiful place, New Zealand. I've got to get there some time.....

Beautiful sky colors. "The eeuenynge maad, ye seien, It shal be cleer, for the heuene is lijk to reed; and the morwe, To day tempest, for heuen shyneth heuy, or sorwful."

From Matthew 14, the Wyclif Bible, 1395. The more modern translation is "When it is evening, ye say, It will be fair weather: for the sky is red. And in the morning, It will be foul weather to day: for the sky is red and louring."

The origin of 'red sky at night, sailor's delight - red sky in morning, sailors take warning'.
