Hello everyone,
I just purchased an S3 and was taking photos (in AUTO mode) at the Celtics game a couple of nights ago. when I viewed the photos on my computer, I noticed a lot of noise in each one. With my S2, I never had an issue with noise in AUTO mode. I then took many test shots with both my S2 and S3. I notice that the S3 sets ISO higher in AUTO mode. I also realize the S3 photos may have more noise due to the camera having more megapixels and small image sensor.
I came to the conclusion that when shooting indoors, I should set the camera to P mode and set ISO to 100 in order to eliminate noise. Do you suggest this also?
I know that by setting my camera to ISO 100, I will not be able to take action shots. However, I take most of my photos with my subject matter not moving. My main concern is to eliminate noise.
Any other suggestions?
Thanks,
Paul

well, s3 goes up to 800 iso, s2 at "only" 400... Both "top" ISOs settings are no good, lots of noise...

I NEVER shoot on Auto Mode. I mostly use P mode, with iso set to 50. If i need something else, i use the other modes.

You should try changing your aperture, allowing the camera to take more light. That way you shoud be able to use a lower/faster shutter speed, keeping the ISO low ;)

Greetings,

I'm surprised you got anything but blurrs... Shutter at least 125 in TV... ISO as low as a 'test picture' will allow........
