Is there a list of which lenses the 580ex automatically zooms with? It seems to be stuck on manual zoom when I use my 24-70L and 85mm 1.8. I have the flash setup in ETTL mode and I'm using it with the 1DMKIIN body.

If it stops zooming you need to replace the batteries. That the first indication of weak battery. people will always try to stop you doing the right thing if it is unconventional

It's a fixed focal length lens. Did you lose Digital Photo Professional (DPP)? Get it here

When the 85mm is on the camera it should still display 85mm on the flash display correct? And when the 24-70 is attatched it should display the same zoom that the lens is at. When I press the zoom button and turn the dial until the M disppears all I get is -- and no numbers indicating what the flashes zoom range is. Also that little gem Icon in the upper right hand corner never appears. I think its supposed to indicate that the lens and flash are zoom compatible. ![]() Are you bouncing? You'll only get zoom if you're pointing the flash straight ahead. Did you lose Digital Photo Professional (DPP)? Get it here

It will zoom to 105 [max] on the 105mm setting with my Sigma 70-200 f/2.8 lens attached--but it still works fine. Better Beamer works beyond that rather swell,. There is a bit of vignetting at 17mm but not really bothersome and it goes away at 24mm without the wide diffuser. Rudy M.---Thanks to this site, I'm learning something new all the time!
