My shot at some still life. I go to southern arkansas university (www.saumag.edu (external link)) and we have the "famous" bell tower, which is strapped with christmas lights every year and is the biggest "christmas candle" in the world. cheesy, yes i know, but the clouds were out this evening, and i really thought it'd look cool from this angle.

i'd like to know which one you all like, i'm posting the color version, and the b&w version.

thanks so much!
B&W

I was kind of torn between the two. While, the BW one felt sort of mystical, I felt that the colour one had more depth to it. So my vote goes for colour.

Cool shot!

I vote color too, but something about the sky bugs me...it's too "baby" blue for me. A little deeper blue would be nice. Cool pic.

#2 for me also. I like the texture of the rust in the color shot.

Very good shot. You did a great job of keeping it straight. Whenever I shoot tall buildings, I wind up with banana-shaped walls.

just wondering if you like this tonemapped version. i really think it brings out the texture.

i like it better than my regular color one up top, just wondering what you all think :D

thanks!

yeah...that one rocks. Looks like you need to bump the contrast back up in the tower itself though...but the sky is killer.

I voted colour; it seems to have something a little more too it, but I can't put my finger on exactly what.
