March 23, 2007 - Eric Medlen succumbed Friday afternoon to injuries suffered when his race crashed into a guardwall during a Monday test session at Gainesville Raceway.

Eric was one of my favorite drivers NHRA to photograph, and will be missed. I've pulled a selection of photos from the past three years of NHRA coverage. I will always remember how Eric would walk the strip before making his pass... he will always be one of the greats!

Terrific series of photos in memory of Medlen. It's a terrible loss for all those in the drag racing community. Prayers go out to his family and those at John Force Racing. Always hate to see something like this happen.

Have plans to take my Father down to the NHRA event in Reading this season. This has been an awful blow to the FORCE Racing team.

Such a horrible loss to the racing community and all those he was close to. My sincere condolences go out to all the friends and family of Eric Medlin. He will be greatly missed.

He was not married or engaged to Ashley. You're probably thinking of Robert Hight, another one of John Force Racing's drivers, and John's son-in-law.

ok... just curious because in last season's DRIVING FORCE series there was no mention of her even dating anyone so I thought I was still a 'shoe-in' L! Suddenly she's married??? what gives?

oh... and while we're at it... in that last shot of Eric? The guy that is resting against the fense with the burlap and red mix BEE suit and trout hat.... LOL! what camera would that be that ? any idea's?
