Well the circuit motorsport season has started in the UK and it was time for me to get back into the saddle today. The Lotus Brands Hatch Celebration was an opportunity for me to shake out the kinks and see if I can remember how to shoot a race car on a track after nearly four months off.

It was windy, over-cast and dull all day long so I was struggling with the elements. Many of the shots are at high ISO and large aperture as a consequence.

#1 Lotus 340R locking up on the run into Druids

#2 Joe Hopkins in the T-Cars getting it a little sideways. Teenagers and high powered race cars, what a mixture lol

#3 Rod Birley dominating the BARC Sports and Saloon Series in his Escort WRC. He is the class of the field by a mile (and a half).

#5 Radical SR4... nowt special about the shot but I really like the paint job on this car...

Nice to see you again on Saturday mate, nice shots too! Might make a thread of my own with mine, but you and Dave always put them to shame! lol ;)

Great series Glenn. Yeah, the paint on the Radical is, well,............Radical :-)

Bless the recently fallen and their family and friends.
I have a Cannon with me at all times. You can't take the shot if you don't have something with which to shoot.

I wish I knew your secret to getting these shots so sharp! You usually credit the 120-300 but I know you weren't using it on Saturday. It's the devil's work, I tell ya

Great shots as ever. It's the two Lotuses (er, Lotii??!) for me. I'd better finish going through mine to see if I've got anything half as good

Kev.

It's all about the talent, not the equipment!

Canon 40D, 20D and G3. Sigma 100-300 F4 EX, Canon 17-85 IS, 18-55 "kit lens" and a 28-105 which I've had forever.
