Something different for a change: Cabaret / stand up comedy. Whatever it's called...

There were a few performers in different student rooms through town. I photographed the one in Atak.

All images here (external link) (including a cover band, which I didn't like, so I quit photographing after a few songs... There are limits)

Lighting was good: For once there was a spotter following the performer. Made the photographing easier. Most difficult was to get a variety of images from one guy with a microphone on stage. I think I managed.

#5: Since this was called "StukaFest" (stands for 'Student room party'), there is an image of 'sweatsocks' projected on the backdrop ;)

Exif is in the images, everything shot at ISO 1600 on my 1D2. Lenses used: 80-200L; 50/1.4 and 20-35L.
C&C welcome.

You can tell it's a comedy act even without your introduction... Which is difficult to accomplish, in itself...

His squint's...looks to the side... the grimaces...and the hand on the side of the face are all signs of a comedian, waiting for audience feedback... The beer in one hand is also indicative, that this is an informal talking presentation...

You capitalized on the lighting, and the photos are sharp and make for a very good set for the comedian... Let him see these... I think he'll be hard pressed to find anything similar presented to him for a long while...

a comedian's definitely more of a limited set of expressions as composed to a band, but i think you did a good job; like the one w/ his hand on the head the best.

Those are composed well, and exposed well.

I would think (I didn't click through the link) that they would have wanted some showing him and the crowd laughing, some wider shots?

Would have liked that as well, but the crowd was in the dark... Did manage one shot, where, at the start of the gig, there was light on the crowd:

But troughout the gig it was like this:

very good..I think at least the first one should be included in the gallery. It helps create the environment.

#2 is the best example of a classic comedian image that I can recall... (and I've seen more than a hundred of the very best in the business)... they all have an individual style...Yet #2 is classic)...

The two stage shots are really well framed, with nice colorful spot lights... I usually shoot several dozen stage pics in RAW and a "bracketed" setting, just to hopefully get at least one good one...

Thanks.
Nice idea about the wallpaper. Heard nothing back on the email I sent yet... If they contact me, it's a thought.

Maybe the link is too difficult for them to work with... How about just sending them a followup with a picture and the link again?

I get very high return rates on a picture, almost every time... the links work too but, not always... You know what your conversion rate is... Maybe they just need time... Sometimes their own photographer stands in the way... Their photographer may not be as good but they might be reluctant to step on their relationship...
