I have a wonderful Lith Action that I am willing to share ( I did not write the action though ) but it was a free action. However, I have nowhere to host it. Does anyone know where I can host it for free and I can send a link?

I also would be interested in trying that action if you don't mind. You may be able to upload the action in websites such as http://www.rapidshare.com/ (external link)

Send the action to a ZIP file and then you can attach it here at POTN.

Attached is the action, originally from a set by 'Das Bosun'. Also in this set are some nice 'cross process' actions (not included in this .zip - but let me know if you want them adding here - or somewhere else...)

I have found that you may need to boost the brightness before applying this action, but feel free to experiment

It may be best to see some examples of this action before you try, and here are some:

I am thinking, perhaps you cam modulate the metal effect by taking some photos of some suitable metal and using them to modulate a photo by a series of layers??

Sorry to quote myself (and also for the double posting - but I am sleeping soon) I did just try to modulate the lith photo with a few layers from a sample photo of my metal sink (that's 'wash basin' to those in the USA).

See attached:

Someone else may want to experiment with this more : )

I am wondering Gheesom, if this is for web of for printing?

I created something that I was pleased with as follows:

PHOTO LAYER:
- I desaturated the 'photo', and brought a bit of detail to the shadows with shadow highlight.

GREY LAYER:
- Then I made a layer under the 'photo' layer, and filled it grey (R83 G83 B83) - NB this is quite a dark grey, but seemed to work well for print.

MULTIPLY BLEND:
- Set the blend mode of the top 'photo' layer to 'multiply'. This will fill any white spaces in the photo with the dark grey.

You may want to add a bit of mono noise also to the 'photo' layer, or play about with the tone of the grey layer.

Attached is a screen shot with the layers. - it turned out a lot brighter looking when it was printed....

The print was ok, but obviously NOT a lith. If you are to print it, I suggest 'boarderless'

I just tried your litho action, and I've got to say I like the effect. Very interesting to play with.
