Hello, everyone! I am very new to photography, so far I am just reading some books and playing with my new Rebel XTi,. I have the kit lense. That's it for now. The goal for now is to master the camera, read some books, and practice. Then buy a better lense, etc, etc. I am into shooting people, specifically portraits. I would like to set up a small studio at home, in one of the corners of my basement. The area doesn't get any natural light. I need some advice. I want the pictures to look professional. As far as I understand, I need to set 3 points of light and invest into a good flash. Could you please refer me to a dummie article (or just tell me, if you know) on how to set up lighting for a home studio, what kinds of lights do I need, what flash do I need. Do I need both a good flash and lighting, or is one sufficient? (sorry if this is a dumb question) Is there some sort of home studio lighting kit I can buy? I don't have a lot of money, and this is just a hobby, so it would have to be economical. I would really appreciate any advice. Thank you.
