ISO 1600 shot, so a little processing is done.

I think it looks really good for 1600 on the XT!

Nice shot! Nice eyes!

I agree! Can't seem to find any noise on this shot. Great post processing.

Keep in mind that the original passed through a noise removal software and has
been reduced in size. This remove virtually any noise in the end result.
The orginial has the normal noise found on the XT at high ISO.
It would be a noticable ina 8x10 print. But not agressively.
And I don't mind noise. I prefer to have a good shot with a little noise
than a lousy one :)

Very nice. You hit the exposure which keeps the noise down. The pose and composition are good as is the lighting.

Last time I printed an 8x10 from 400 ISO film alleviated any complaints about noise from my XT.

Thanks for all your kind comments.

I will share with you the details of the shot.
It was not a staged shot. We were talking and he just turned
toward me and I took the shot.
It was shot using available tungsten lighting.
It needed a +2/3stop exposure compensation and a little curve to bring
the black at their present levels. The eyes were PP, sponge/dodge.

The settings are: XT, ISO1600, 24-105L at 50mm, f/4, 1/40s.
Tungsten white balance, Raw file.

I'm happy with the end results. The expression on his face is perfect.
