OK, so I use STANDARD in camera settings. Thanks for the clarification. I set the flash to Highspeed sync, I think it's called. The flash during the day is use as a fill since most of the time they are hunched over the bike and their faces are usually pretty dark. It doesn't bother the rider and those guys are so keyed in I think the only thing that would distract them is if I stepped in front of the guys and knocked them off the bike.

I use no difussion on the flash either.

5. This was a great corner but as the race went on the guys were really hitting it tight and it became a bit too hairy and I moved in for safety reasons.

I was using my mark2n, 70-200 2.8 canon lens and the 580ex flash. I'll go home later, find the EXIF info and post it if it's not visable via the photo.

I usually shoot AV iso 400 flash highspeedsync

thanks for the comments.

Thanks again roundsquare! I downloaded one of those exif viewer programs, and don't worry, all your exif info is visabel via the photo.

Hey man- I was the guy who clarified the "Standard" setting for you. If you want to expiriment, try the "Faithful" Picture Style and customize the setting with a saturation of +2 and see how you like that.

One question- do uyou dial in any negative FEC on your fill-flash?
