I bought my G2 this week. There are a cluster of
hot pixels in every photo i have taken!!

I have tested it using the hot pixel testing software,
results are:

ISO 100, from 1/500, 1/250, to 1/2, 1 second:
a cluster of 6 pixels are found, they are adjacent to
each other! Two of them have a lightless exceeding
100 out of 255!

ISO 100, 2 seonds: no hot pixel found.

ISO 100, from 4 to 8 seconds: 10 hot pixels found.

What's wrong with camera? Should i return it to store
or send it to Canon for repair? The camera is still
in 7 days return period.

Thanks.

Yeah, exchange it right away. The shop won't have a problem as its a common prolem. Take in a print of the rogue pixels.

My G2 is 5 months old now and the CCD is clean as a whistle. Guess I was lucky not to get any hot or dead pixels.

Doesn't mean that some will develop over time though. I'll have to keep my fingers crossed.

Carl

What software can you use to test for hot pixels? Thanks in advance!
