You're close to success. I would get rid of the distracting bushes at the right and would like to see the left hand in the picture. But the rest is OK for me :) .

Nice shot except, as the other Peter said, for the missing digits.
Peter.

Agreed. Best shots i.e. covershots are usually very simple, not too many things there, no distractions, also nothing a viewer would miss, an illustrative example would be a large aperture macro of a flower, with all else heavily blurred, so no distractions.

5D and holy trinity of primes. Now the 90mm TS-E TS-E fly bit me. I hate these forums.

You did post in the critique forum, and you did ask for comments... Don't shoot the messenger if you don't like the message.

I don't think that's what Shafiq ment to say and I don't think he's 'shooting' anybody, that's not the way I feel it anyway  .

Could cone tighter.

Top = Cut the text in half - that way we are not distracted by trying to read it.

Rt = Crop to inside the edge of the bricks. Let the viewer think that the wall goes on forever

Lt = Crop to somewhere mid shaft on the forarm. About where the N is on the word SUNDAY

Bottom = Crop just above the skirt. Just as you let the viewer think the wall continued on the Rt Side, let him think that her skin goes on uninterrupted as far down as the imagination will take.

I am at work and cant do these to see how they look, but I am willing to bet that if you try that, the issue of missing digits will be a moot point.

No harm was meant. I like the critiques...makes me think before I take a picture. I guess that is the idea right!!!!

Hi Shafiq,

I think the photo is ok, but I think you could do more with the models expression.

Try motivating her more. A half smirk would have looked great.

Check out

For some ideas... also check out my site www.jasoncolephotography.com.au (external link) fr some posing ideas.

I think your on the right track, you just need to get osme mroe feeling into the model... give her some more "S" ...

"S" is when they poke them bum out and boobs out and form a nice sexy S shape... the magazinbes love it.. if you want to shoot comercially then this is the way to do it...

Cheers
Jason

I looked at your site and definately a learning experience. I will try and see if some of the poses can be replicated. Thanks

I think the idea behind the original portrait was to give it a 'sexy' look and feel. So good to hear you think so too.

What is it about the picture this time around that makes it more acceptable?

Thanks for your comments.
