Hi,

Has anyone had trouble updating the A20 with firmware version 1.0.0.2 ?

I have tried the update and can no longer use the replay function of the camera when pictures are on the CF. Recording and storing works fine but replaying and displaying on the cameras LCD monitor doesn't.

Transferring pictures to and from the A20 via USB also dosn't work anymore.

Any suggestions ?

Thanx

Steen

I assume you've already tried re-flashing the firmware? If that doesn't seem to work, you can probably contact Canon and ask after an older firmware version to return the camera to its original state. It may even be on the Canon CD that came with your camera (though I doubt it).

I have made the firmware update 1.0.0.2 on my A20. I haven't got the problems you describe. Did you format your CF-card after updating the firmware? If you didn't, try that.

I am having similar problems, just flashed the firmware with no errors, but now find that the camera shuts down when trying to take an image.
Unable to re-flash from the CF as i have already did a format, and it will not allow me to reload the CF from the PC.

Have notified Canon and awaiting their responce.

I'm having a problem too. Upgraded from 1.0.0.0 to 1.0.0.2 with no apparant problem, and now can't take any pictures. Replay is fine. I can view pictures from another card, and I can use the PC, via the USB cable, to reformat my original card (and indeed I can try to re-install the upgrade, but the camera won't let me as it is now at 1.0.0.2).

Have you had a reply from Canon?

Edit: I've now raised an incident on the Canon Europe Web Self-Service site. I'll let you know what I hear.

Cheers,
Liam

Hi Liam,

I am still waiting to hear from Canon as it seems they have been having problems and I had to re submit my question to them, so still waiting to hear anything. Have you had any better luck?

Regards
Mike

Hi Mike,

No; my incident is still at a status of "New".

I've had difficulty logging on to the support site, though - worked up until about 6pm last night, then couldn't get back on until about 9am. Hmm, maybe their website doesn't work out of hours ;-)a.

Cheers,
Liam
