Poll for those who were considering buying. For those who were NOT planning to buy at all, no poll option available to reduce clutter.

Regardless. I don't think I mentioned any of that in the poll, as it simply asks now that we might know the price, what say those who were going to buy?

You know as well as I that rumors here, as well as from the original white paper, many believed the price might be $3999, so most, including you, know the purpose of the poll.

i admit i am a bit dissapointed they raised the price and was ready to spend 4K. Although i am not a pro, i still want the cam and will get it eventually. I will wait a few months out of principle :p maybe the price will come down a couple bucks.

I needed to get a second body and at 4K the MK III was within my range. Now Im probably going to go out and purchase another MK II N.

But the thing that kinda makes me wonder. Will canon drop the price after 6 months because they are trying to get rid of all the brand new MK II N's that are still in stock.

Then the second wave of purchasers start buying the MK III's knowing the market has shifted back.

Who knows?

My thoughts also, along with maybe the saw the huge outpouring of folks who wanted one and realized they could up their profits, which of course, is what they are in business to do. I think this will send a chill through the buyers and make it easier to buy one when they first come out without having to fear so much of stocks being sold out immediately.

I think for the leap in technology, I will buy in Q3, only because I do not need the camera right away, I would like to get my 500 f4 first. The price is not so bad when you consider that it is several leaps ahead of the other bodies in the family, I played with it already and I think it will be a real winner.

I am still going to buy one unless I find a good deal on a 1Ds Mark II to hold me over until the 1D Mark III comes down in price a little.

I still plan on getting one in July (with help from my birthday money). Hopefully, they will still be in stock after the initial rush of orders.

I have no intention of getting a 1D at the moment. I have a 30D and an XT. When they have paid for themselves and for a 1D then I might consider a 1D.

I was going to buy the MarkIII this summer. Now, I'm going to buy the 300L 2.8 and wait for the price of the MarkIII to drop.

I'll probably pick up the lens this summer and the body next year sometime.

I think the camera is well worth $4,500. I just don't have it.
