Shot with my XT, the following are two of my first wildlife shots. Okay, well not really wild since they were taken at McKinley park in downtown Sacramento, CA.

with canon 70-200 f2.8L:

Hey no foreplay allowed in the lens forums.:lol:

Nice shots. The turtles look real sharp.

The DOF of these two shots make the ripples in the background almost look like they are painted in with a brush. This is the kind of stuff you just cannot get with a P&S.

looks good!

i can see the f4 IS people chiming in and saying it looks soft or how the f4 IS is 10x sharper.

I would love to have the f4L IS or even the F4L non-IS but I have to have the f2.8 for the indoor sports stuff that I have been and will be shooting. At this point I just cannot justify two lenses with the same focal lengths. Besides if the $1100 f2.8L cannot get a good shot then it must be me.

Turtles were in the pond, came out for some sun when I was about to leave and I spotted them. There are a boat load of geese there that act like your not even there. I had plenty of oppurtunity to shoot cause the place is just crawling with life.
