Any time.

We get over to the Dells once in a while (we live just north of Milwaukee), but usually drive through with our hands covering our pockets. It seems they have some huge vacuum cleaners over there that just suck the cash right out of your pockets if you aren't being really careful! :p

By the way, I don't know where Hertfordshire is, but I spent over a year in the UK while in the U.S. Army. I was stationed at Menwith Hill Station, just west of Harrogate. Nice area around there. I was there in the 1965-1966 time frame. As a matter of fact, that's where I got deeply interested in photography.

I know what you mean - I left the Dells with lighter pockets than when we arrived.

Hertfordshire is one of the Home Counties (ie it borders London), so is a long way from us - not in US terms, of course, but certainly in UK terms. If Harrogate was where you got deeply interested in photography, are we responsible for your considerably lighter wallet?:)

I use the 685 and 322RC together. Between the mono grip and head grip, you cand change positions very quickly.

I use the 685 too, which looks the same to me, and it is the only monopod that I have consistently used. It is just so quick and easy to adjust. Very high build quality. I wouldn't waste money on anything else given how I shoot. Other monopods just got left at home.

I have this automatic tripod with a 484RC2 head and also the 682B (with the retractable legs)

with the 488RC2 head.

I like the automatic (334B) because it's fast operation, ease of use AND light weight. I think that in 9 cases out of 10, I'm ok with the automatic. The 682B can take at least 80kg of load and it's extremely sturdy in every respect, but it's just so much slower to use. The height of the automatic can be adjusted with less fuss (and less changing of hand positition).

Here's the Manfrotto page for the 334B by the way:
