Should be here Monday. Will post some pics with it. I was close to ordering a 16-35 just before the announcement of the new one.

I've been thinking about upgrading from my 17-40, so I'm interested in how well the 16-35 MKII is received. I'd love to see the pics.

Presumably they got it right with the new version.
I hope we don't have to go through all the "bad copy" threads that we had with the first version.

some people on fm are claiming to have them in hand. I too an interested in how it performs, even if theres no way Im going to buy one

I'm guessing they significantly changed the design of this lens... Just checked on B&H and the filter size is 82mm vs the good ol' 77mm (common to L) threads.

I received one today. I have not had much good subject matter today. I will try to post pics tomorrow.The lens seems well built but feels considerably smaller and lighter than a 24-70 f2.8. The few test pics I took looked good, even at the edges. I did not have a mk1 so cant make that comparision that Iam sure many are interested in.

the old 16-35 is smaller and lighter than the 24-70.
