A couple of years ago I was at the zoo with my then girlfriend. My camera was broken at the time so we were using her very small p&s.

This is not very great, but it is a vacation shot on a Jeep tour through Animal Kingdom at Disney World when I only had a P&S camera. It was nice to see them in open habitat rather than cooped up.

I had not thought about it until you mentioned it and I agree. Maybe the rocky ledge in the park where the lions hang out was the model for some of the scenery in The Lion King.

I think that there is a small pile of bones just on the other side of the lion.

one of the best big cat picture I have ever seen. Puts the cat into perfect context. Well done.

Didn't see any images of Cheetahs. A couple from a trip to Africa last year. These were taken in the Caprivi Strip area of Namibia.
See if you can spot the Cheetah. When they lie down, the spots are superb camouflage.

Another image of the same Cheetah when he got up and moved around and started to warn us of his presence. You'll notice the fur raised up on the back of his neck in warning.
