Took a courtesy look at the screen for the orders we have in our store for our two 1D Mk III's to see if they're any nearer dispatching today. Despite the head office stating they've physically ordered a large amount from Canon, there's no quoted delivery date yet. However all stores who have ordered cameras are now showing as having no outstanding backorders. There's 130+ outstanding orders against the head office totals however. Interpreting this isn't an exact science, but the best bet is that if you'd ordered one, your order has been cancelled and your store should be contacting you to re-order. Except this time to pay 25% up front.
Read into this what you will given the announcements about Jessops this week. However any wild speculations you may come up with are, even from the inside, unsubstantiated.
Not in the business of bi***ing about the company from behind their backs as that's unprofessional, and quite frankly the place got me through uni, but I did think anyone who'd ordered from here ought to know so they can chase it up.
