Thanks for letting us know, Scott.

It seems that none of the "core" Auckland gkpers will be along. That's a pity. Is it too much travel, perhaps, and not enough photographic interest?

This is the first GKPE I've missed, and I'm kinda sad about that.

It's partly the travel (and the cost of petrol) but mostly just my current lack of interest in photography. I've hardly picked up my camera in the last month. I'm sure it will come back, I just need a break to do other things for a while.

Hear are some from the butterfly house. Sucess rate not great, extension tubes next on list.

I will post some of the sunset (for what its worth) but need some practice stiching them together. Climb up the hill was good, the first section to the lookout was actually a tougher hike that the climb to the top!!

Good to meet you guys, putting faces to names. Would like to do some more in this area, would need to spend a week or more have have a really good look.

OK heres some roughys'.

My waterfall shots not too flash, have not done much of this before, need to slow down my shutter speed. I did take some climbing ropes & harnesses but didn't carry them up the hill. There is probably some less obstructed views from below the lookout but need ropes to decend/asend.

Thanks Mark
Walk down easy, track is fairly easy to follow. We had small LED head-lights and with the beam aimed slightly downward about a meter infront of you, your foot steps easy to pick out.

Steve gave me a bit of a fright about 200 meters from the end of the track, he was laying in wait for us, torch off, listening for possims and then whamo, on with his torch on!!. Last thing I expected.

My sunsets were mostly panoramas but need to practice putting them together.

How's your legs?

oh they are a bit sore, nothing major tho and a day of rest wont fix :)

Have you tried to use the canon software for stitching the panos together? I have used it a number of times and it's not to bad. it can take the guess work out of it.

Mark did you shoot in RAW. If so export out 2/3 exposures and uses layers and masks to give the country side some light
