It's hard to tell sharpness for this picture and it looks like it might be a bit warm (red). I also think this picture might be a bit "busy" with a lot of overlapping buildings with nothing that really stands out as being a focal point of the image.

thanks for all the replies..I no longer have a tripod, my old one met a tragic accident. Long story. Hopefully I can pickup a 3021 or something so can go back and take some more shots next weekend.

Ooh, where do you get a wife like that? I must have forgotten to tick that particular box on my specification...

As far as the image is concerned, I would definitely be aiming to put it on my wall, but not yet. The large version looks like it would benefit from a bit of sharpening, and possibly also a bit more contrast.

Very nice shot. Did you shoot it from the Weehawken ferry terminal? Its amazing how bright times square is at night as can be seen in the photo. Also, did you merge two shots?? There seems to be some sort of strange straight line in the river just to the right of the chrysler building. Also, not sure if it is the gif version or not, but there is some strange coloring in the sky around some of the buildings (ESB). If it was two shots, maybe the white balance was different and is causing some issues. I definitely wall material.

Unfortunately I wouldn't. The shot, composition and everything else is fantastic, highly jealous. I personally feel that night time city-scapes, however, benefit from over exposure. Ultimately your points of light are always blown out anyway, they need to be. So why not expose more and give the rest of the image more mid tone light and drama?

Personal taste and all that but I'd be back taking it again and double/triple the exposure time.

Cheers, Dave.

I'm not sure. What's on the other side?

Relax, just joking - it looks pretty good to me. I love night shots and this has great colors.

And I just found your bigger image - YES, definitely a hanger. Nice job.
