Cracking weekend at Manfeild, something for everyone ....

1. One of our local Forumla First drivers Dom Kalasih had a half decent weekend.

2. Team Yellow Racing win the award for the best turned out car. Here are 2 of the 3 immaculate Porsches they raced

3. Truck racing is very different but the polution...! Looks as if the series won't be run next year as if only 1 track will stage a race for the 5 Ton giants

4. At the other end of the scale these two guys had a excellent weekend finishing 2 of the 3 races 0.1 of a second apart each time

5. I'm told this is the fastest Tuscan in the world - went like a bullet. It was so fast in qualifiying for the Handicap race that they started him from the pit lane so as to keep the track clear for those already running

6. Stong field forthe Pro7 series. No. 8 gave 28 a tap going in and it looked like a major event was about to happen but some nice work from Nick P kept it all pointing in the right direction

7. The 3rd of the very tidy Team Yellow Racing Porsches trying hard

8. John Hepburn's Bedford KM had been driving away from the field until the motor called time in Race 1 - Last in Race 2 it all came back together for Race 3 with another win

Thanks Dave - Looks like you had fun at Brands ... I almost got nostalgic for a moment or two then I remember I needed sun block on Saturday :)

Had a very enjoyable chat with another Tog, POTN member and FF racer through most of the morning. He had a few interesting insights in to the art of the racer that help to add an extra dimension to the photos.

Nice shots Mr PictureSports. I'm guessing you turned up on Sunday - didn't see you flittering around - although I did spend a lot of time at the end of the back straight - so probably would have missed you anyway.

Thanks for your help/advice throughout the morning on Saturday. It was excellent to be able to compare the different lenses in real conditions.

I'm with the others, that Tuscan shot is fantastic.

Attached is probably my only (almost) stylish shot of the weekend. The mandate for the shot (I told myself) was;

- cars going in as many different directions as possible
- some grass must make it into the shot
- some crowd must be visible in the shot
- some sky must be visible in the shot (alas the sky wasn't a nice blue)
- must convey some motion too

Simple! Not surprisingly, it makes for something of a cluttered shot!

Cliff

I recon 6 feet to your right and you would have a winner. The two tents in the stands would frame the back ground while still keeping the overall effect ofthe shot.

None the less a great concept

I hate it when you're right! Still figuring the angles out at Manfeild to be honest.....

Great Photos :) I am guessing you were the photog I met with Cliff on Saturday near Dunlop? I had 'one of those' weekends, where I'm pretty much not happy with anything I shot LOL Although I did get a few ffirst shots I liked.

Very Nice Dave!

Love Number 3. Something about the un-eco friendly trucks that are great!
Do you ever have bad weather? :(

Dan.
