There are many threads on HS baseball here but I'll add one more.

After all, it's spring and Basketball and Soccer were over. :)

All shot with the 70-200 2.8. I'll try either the 300/f4 next time or with the 1.4x for tighter crops.

Thanks Chris. I think baseball is one of the best sports to shoot. It's fast but yet slow and there's alot of laughter and fun when hanging around the dug out, especially when an umpire blew a call and lit up the coach :D

A follow up on the game winning jog to home plate. He was pretty much screamed like this the whole way.

That's a high school kid? WOW...

I think these look just great with the lens you used

Thanks, some of them grew beards to look older. Maybe it's a trend now, to look older than your age... maybe for clubbing access :D

Great shots. The timing and clarity are all perfect in my opinion.

Thanks Larry, the 70-200 is a great lens but at 200mm I found it sometime doesn't have enough reach.

Very nice series 4X4. I got the same lens (70-200) a week ago and can't wait to hit the ball park! My son's games have been rained out 3 days in a row. :(

How has the lens performed for you with 1.4x? I have a one on order.

Don, thanks for the comment.

I haven't used the lens with the 1.4x for any serious shoot, just testing and it seemed good. No affect on focus that I saw.

I will try it on the next game if I'm not using the 300.
